The domain
Family property for three generations, it is in the know-how of the Burgundian tradition that the reputation of Domaine de la Feuillarde has been built.
The Thomas family knows the value of its heritage. They have known how to enhance the value of their heritage, developing on their estate, plot by plot, a rich palette of the great growths of Burgundy.
On this estate, the family house is nestled in the middle of the vines, we know how to cultivate with love the identity of a terroir and offer the best of its soul.
The estate is regularly awarded prizes for the excellence of its wines.
"I like clean, pure wines that express minerality, with fruity and floral notes, without excluding a certain fatness." Lucien Thomas, owner.
Terroir and breeding
Terroir located in the commune of Vergisson. Clayey limestone soil from the Jurassic period, stony. 8 plots of land spread over the commune. Facing south, west, east. Average age of the vines: 50 years. Small arch 6 to 8 eyes, organic contribution, soil work, controlled yield. All the estate's wines come from a respectful agriculture within the framework of a reasoned protection.
Manual harvest, light crushing, pneumatic press, static settling. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats thermoregulated around 18°.
Tasting notes
Light pale yellow colour (white flowers, with an exotic note). Mineral finish, although well-structured, it leaves an impression of finesse and elegance. Complex, balanced and structured nose. Lively and frank attack, good length on the palate.
Perfect accompaniment to sea and river fish steamed with butter sauce, roast chicken with lemon. However, it can also be enjoyed on its own as an aperitif.
