The domain
A family estate created in 1986, Maison Henry is nestled in the heart of the Auxerrois and Chablisien vineyards, in Saint-Cyr Les Colons. Today, Pascal and Pascale Henry run the estate and market a range of excellent gourmet wines, which bear the authentic signature of Burgundy wines. The estate extends over 15 hectares of mature vines planted with Aligoté, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Pascal Henry expresses all his talent and produces well-balanced wines of great elegance which are regularly awarded in competitions.
Terroir and breeding
Planted on a Kimmeridgian soil of clay and limestone composition, the vines located on this Vaillons climate produce an excellent Premier Cru. The vines are worked in a sustainable way. Mechanical harvesting allows us to carefully adapt the date of harvesting right up to the last moment in order to have grapes at optimum maturity and to guarantee the best balance between sugar and acidity.
The alcoholic fermentation is done with selected natural yeasts at 20°C, and the malolactic fermentation with natural bacteria. The wine is aged in stainless steel tanks.
Tasting notes
Pale yellow colour with white gold highlights. The nose is very elegant, with notes of fresh yellow fruit but also of spices and citrus fruits. The palate is round, with a nice fullness, the yellow fruits are present with a mineral finish which gives this 1er cru a nice typicity.
This excellent Chablis will go perfectly with grilled langoustines, scallops just fried or lightly creamed.
